IBERIA
- Latin Hibērī,* from Greek Iberes; of unknown origin. Name of a Celtic people of 6c BC
Spain, also used by the Romans for the entire Spanish Peninsula.
Possibly a local hydronym [name = nym for a body of water = hydro] for modern day

so Ebro (former Iberes) River could mean just river, or valley river making Iberians
something like the people of the river, or river valley. (Interestingly it was also an exonym
given to the Kingdom 🔍 of Iberia, a completely unrelated Asiatic people: the Kartvelians,
c. 302 BC – 580 AD, near the Caucasus' 🔍 in what is now Georgia.)
* Roman sources also use the term Hispani for the Iberian people, source of modern Hispanic
