CIRCA - 1848 🇮🇪 - vertical tricolor of green (hoist-side), white (middle) & orange (fly-side) equal bands
HISTORY: Inspired by the French Tricolore🔍, the Irish design was unveiled in 1848 by the Young Ireland movement, representing
harmony between Ireland's Catholic and Protestant communities.

The green was drawn from the traditional Irish ethnic flag; gold Gaelic 𓏢 harp on a
green field (a 17c marker of native Irish / Catholic resistance, in contrast with the blue🔍
of the 🇬🇧 Union Jack🔍.)
It achieved widespread recognition when raised over the rebels seized General Post
Office in the Easter Rising of 1916, now a symbol of republican aspirations, and was
subsequently adopted by the Irish Republic and then the Irish Free State in 1922.
VEXILLOLOGY:* Embodying aspirations for inclusion & unity among diverse traditions;**
